How to Setup the App?

Setting up Store Locator by Byte Apps for your Shopify store is a straightforward process. Follow the steps below to ensure your store locator is properly integrated:

Step 1: Configure Map Provider & API Keys (Settings)

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin and open Apps → Store Locator by Byte Apps.

  2. Go to Settings and choose your Map Provider:

    • Google Maps (requires API keys)

    • OpenStreetMap (no API key required if you enter Lat/Lng manually)

  3. If you plan to use Google Maps, enter your Google Maps API keys in the provided fields and save.

  4. If you want the app to auto-generate Lat/Lng (geocoding) from the Store List page, you must enter your Google Maps Admin API key (even if you use OpenStreetMap for map display).

Step 2: Add Locations (Store List)

  1. Go to Store List in the app.

  2. Add locations using one of these options:

    • Import CSV: Click Download sample CSV, fill it in, then import it.

    • Manual add (if available): Create locations directly in the app.

  3. Confirm your locations appear in the list after saving/importing.

Step 3: Customize the Store Locator (Customize)

  1. Open the Customize page in the app.

  2. Adjust:

    • Map style and appearance

    • Marker/icon style and colors

    • Default zoom and interaction settings

    • List layout / card styling

  3. Save your changes.

Step 4: Add the Store Locator to Your Theme (Theme App Block)

  1. Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize.

  2. Open the page/template where you want the store locator to appear.

  3. Click Add block (or Add section) and select Store Locator by Byte Apps.

  4. Save the theme changes to publish it to your storefront.

Step 5: Test the Setup

  1. Open your storefront and visit the page where the app block was added.

  2. Confirm:

    • The map loads correctly

    • Locations appear on the map and in the list

    • Search/filter (if enabled) works

    • Clicking a location updates the map / shows details
