Set Up Conditional Labels Based on Active Discounts and Cart Behavior
To make your discount messages more targeted and contextual, ByteTag lets you create smart labels that only appear under certain conditions—such as when specific discounts are applied, or when the cart meets a certain threshold.
Here’s how to configure it:
- Go to the “Label Rules” section within the ByteTag dashboard.
- Click Create New Rule.
- Choose your condition type. You can configure labels based on:
-
Discount Codes: Show a custom label when a customer uses a specific code.
-
Automatic Discounts: Target Shopify’s built-in auto-applied discounts.
-
Cart Conditions: Display labels when the cart total exceeds a certain amount or when specific products are in the cart.
- Define your custom label text. For instance:
“Your 10% off has been applied—nice choice!”
- Add any logic for exclusions or targeting—such as only showing on selected collections, product types, or customer tags.
- Fine-tune appearance settings to maintain consistent branding.
- Preview and Save the rule.
Once active, these smart labels will only show when the customer meets the rule criteria—offering a more personalized and relevant experience.
Use conditional labels to reinforce promotions like “Spend $100, get 20% off” or loyalty deals for returning customers.
